Texas will welcome UTRGV to UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday night for the 63rd game in a series that the Longhorns own a 55-7 lead in. Still ranked No. 3 in the D1Baseball poll, Texas is 7-0 this season. This will be UTRGV’s first game against a team that doesn’t play in the Big 12, and the 3-4 Vaqueros are coming off a series win at Houston.<\/p>\n

After playing UTRGV, Texas will head to Houston this weekend for the BRUCE BOLT College Classic. While set up at Daikin Park for three days, Texas will play No. 9 Coastal Carolina,\u00a0which was last season’s NCAA runner-up<\/a>, Baylor and Ohio State.<\/p>\n

Texas has scored in every inning so far tonight. In the third inning, the Longhorns added to their lead on Ashton Larson’s RBI single. All four of UT’s runs have been scored with two outs tonight.<\/p>\n

Texas freshman pitcher Sam\u00a0Cozart has allowed a baserunner in every inning so far, but the right-hander has been able to work around that traffic on the bases. With two runners aboard in the third inning, Cozart ended the threat with back-to-back strikeouts. Cozart has six total strikeouts tonight.<\/p>\n

During the second inning, Texas first baseman Casey Borba stole two bases before coming home on Temple Junior College\u00a0transfer Andrew\u00a0Ermis’ first-ever hit on the Division I level. The Longhorns later added another run on Ethan Mendoza’s RBI single.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Borba hasn’t exactly been\u00a0known for his wheels. Over the first 92 games of Borba’s college career, the third-year infielder stole a total of three bases.<\/p>\n

End 1: Texas 1, UTRGV 0<\/p>\n

Texas is the first team on the scoreboard tonight. With two outs in the first inning’s bottom half, Aiden Robbins homered over the fence in right field to give UT a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n
