V.R. Eaton<\/a> extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 6-2. They blew past the Plano East Panthers<\/a> 12-6. While the Eagles didn’t have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it’s starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.<\/p>\n As for Plano East, they have been struggling recently as they’ve lost three of their last four contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season. That patch can’t be blamed on the team’s hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.<\/p>\n For Plano East’s part, Savannah Leonard<\/a> put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Leonard has been nothing but reliable: she hasn’t given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter’s box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.<\/p>\n In other batting news, Audrey Hopper<\/a> made the most of her time in the batter’s box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Aisha Nawaz<\/a> also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.<\/p>\n V.R. Eaton didn’t take long to hit the field again: they’ve already played their next game, a 19-1 victory against Plano on the 21st. As for Plano East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-11 tie against Bell on the 21st.<\/p>\n
