{"id":179317,"date":"2026-02-25T07:29:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T07:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/179317\/"},"modified":"2026-02-25T07:29:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T07:29:18","slug":"austin-significantly-oversupplied-with-new-home-lots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/179317\/","title":{"rendered":"Austin &#8220;significantly oversupplied&#8221; with new home lots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 New data shows that there are more build-ready lots in Austin than new homes being built at the current rate of construction.<\/p>\n<p>Austin was categorized as a \u201csignificantly oversupplied market,\u201d according to data from housing research firm <a href=\"https:\/\/zondahome.com\/new-home-lot-supply-index-2\/?utm_source=www.resiclubanalytics.com&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=austin-and-denver-boast-significantly-oversupplied-lot-inventory-baltimore-and-philly-homebuilders-still-struggle-to-find-lots\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zonda<\/a>. Austin was one of only two cities in the U.S. identified in this bracket. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Austin also had the highest year-over-year decline in home value, with the average dropping by approximately 6%, according to data from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillow.com\/learn\/home-prices-falling\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zillow<\/a>.
