The Austin Police Department is investigating a Saturday shooting death in Northeast Austin as the city’s 10th homicide of the year.<\/p>\n
According to a Tuesday press release<\/a>, officers responded to a call about a shooting at 1400 E. Rundberg Lane at approximately 3:05 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, they located a male victim near a dumpster suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and initiated life-saving measures.<\/p>\n The victim, who has not yet been identified but is estimated to be in his 40s, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene nine minutes later. A preliminary investigation conducted by Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists indicates that the victim was shot and killed by an unknown suspect who then fled the scene.<\/p>\n Anyone with information about this case should contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS.
