Following President Trump\u2019s State of the Union address yesterday, he\u2019s headed down to the Lone Star State and is set to speak at an event in Corpus Christi. The big question is: What will he be talking about?<\/p>\n
As the primary season comes to an end, this will likely be a move to rally voters. Political consultant Luke Macias predicts that his speech will feel like a campaign event. \u201cI look at this as him beginning to tell us what he intends to deliver for South Texas,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Macias went on to say that South Texas\u2014which has traditionally been a Democrat stronghold in a red state\u2014has become more and more competitive for Republicans, and Trump will likely move to pour gasoline on that fire.<\/p>\n
\u201cRepublicans have made major gains, and his (Trump\u2019s) message will most certainly be heard by many of the Hispanic voters who have moved to the Republican Party,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
With the timing of President Trump\u2019s speech in Corpus Christi, some might be inclined to suspect a surprise endorsement in the hotly contested Senate GOP primary.
