FORT WORTH, Texas – A high-speed chase topping 110 mph ended with five suspects in custody after a 90-minute pursuit across three North Texas counties Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

What we know:<\/p>\n
The chase began near FM 875 and FM 663 in Ellis County around 3:20 a.m. and lasted for an hour before the suspects crashed on Interstate 30 near Camp Bowie Boulevard around 4:20 a.m. Police utilized spike strips during the pursuit, which caused the driver to lose control and the vehicle to flip onto its side.<\/p>\n
During the chase, officers reported that the suspects fired shots at them. Investigators confirmed a firearm was recovered from the wreckage. Because of the gunfire, police approached the overturned vehicle with extreme caution and advised news crews to stay back in case of a shootout.<\/p>\n
All five suspects were transported to local hospitals by ambulance. FOX 4 crews at the scene observed officials removing the suspects’ handcuffs so they could be treated for crash-related injuries. One suspect was reportedly unconscious following the wreck, though none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n
Multiple police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit. Agencies from Fort Worth, Mansfield, Ellis County and Tarrant County remain on-site investigating.<\/p>\n

The circumstances that initiated the pursuit remain under investigation. Police have not yet released the identities of the suspects or provided formal updates on their medical conditions.<\/p>\n
