FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The UT Arlington Mavericks hit the road this weekend for a three-game non-conference series against No. 6 ranked Arkansas at Baum-Walker Stadium. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. as UTA looks to build momentum against another nationally ranked opponent.

The matchup marks UTA’s second game this season against a top-10 opponent after the Mavericks knocked off then-No. 7 TCU, 11–8, earlier this month at Globe Life Field. UTA will aim to replicate that early offensive energy while tightening up defensively in a challenging road environment.

UT Arlington enters the weekend with a quiet confidence after securing the program’s highest-ranked win since 2018 just ten days prior to their first game against the Razorbacks.

Through seven games, redshirt junior catcher Zach Mazoch continues to anchor the lineup, hitting above .400 with multiple multi-hit performances and team-leading extra-base production.

Senior infielder Xavier Melendez has provided consistency in the middle of the order, reaching base at a steady clip while driving in key runs in recent contests.

UTA is averaging over four runs per game and has shown the ability to produce in big innings, highlighted by a nine-run first inning against TCU earlier this season.

On the mound, the Mavericks have received steady outings from their weekend rotation, with the bullpen continuing to develop defined late-inning roles. Limiting free passes and defensive miscues will be critical against an Arkansas lineup that capitalizes on extra opportunities.

Arkansas enters the series ranked No. 6 nationally and unbeaten at home, presenting one of the toughest road tests on UTA’s 2026 schedule.
