Resuscitated music festival La Semana Allegre unveiled its 2026 lineup Thursday, and it has a little something for everyone \u2014\u00a0from new wave to Latin to punk and beyond, and with a mix of local, national and international acts.<\/p>\n

The annual party will take place at San Antonio\u2019s Hemisfair Park on Thursday and Friday, April 23-24, as part of the city\u2019s Fiesta celebrations. Tickets<\/a> are on sale now for $15.<\/p>\n

For Gen X-ers and the OSHA-compliant, Men Without Hats will perform their \u201cSafety Dance\u201d among other bops as headliner for the \u201980s-leaning opening night.<\/p>\n

English new wave band Bow Wow Wow, created by Sex Pistols provocateur Malcom McLaren, will perform in Thursday\u2019s lineup. McLaren also managed the New York Dolls and Adam and the Ants, even recruiting members of Bow Wow Wow from the latter act.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s nostalgia trip continues with California\u2019s \u201980s synth pop band Animotion, Tex-Mex new wave wild man Joe \u201cKing\u201d Carrasco and Tommy Tutone, the one-hit wonder that popularized the most famous phone number of all time: 867-5309.<\/p>\n

Representing Brooklyn, New York, female-fronted punk band Surfbort is sure to unleash chaos on the crowd during a must-see Thursday set. <\/p>\n

Friday will feature flavors of Austin, including electro-rock funk duo Ghostland Observatory, who are headlining, as well as psych rockers The Bright Light Social Hour.<\/p>\n

Friday continues to be a bicoastal affair. Synth rock soul pop artist 54Ultra, hailing from New Jersey, will make the ch\u00edc freaks peak, while Los Retros and La Santa Cecilia will hold it down for California.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s lineup will even get international with a set by Mexico City fusion band Son Rompe Pera, which mixes traditional cumbia and marimba music with ska and rock.<\/p>\n

And, importantly, the festival also will bring it back home with local faves, including legendary punk band Girl in a Coma and indie project Mypilotis on Thursday along with ever-evolving indie band Pop Pistol and the always-soulful Chavela on Friday.<\/p>\n
