Beginning Monday, March 2, VIA(Arlington’s on\u2011demand public transportation service) will introduce updated fare options designed to make many trips more affordable and give riders more flexibility. These updates will affect UTA students, faculty, staff, and community members who use VIA for campus access and city travel.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s Changing<\/p>\n
On\u2011Demand Ride Fares<\/p>\n
Fares will now range from $3 to $8, depending on trip distance.<\/p>\n
Many shorter trips will cost less than before, making local rides more affordable.<\/p>\n
Handitran Service<\/p>\n
Handitran rides will be $3 per trip.<\/p>\n
One Personal Care Assistant (PCA) may continue to ride free.<\/p>\n
New Ride Credits (Replacing Passes)<\/p>\n
Starting Monday, VIA will shift from passes to Ride Credits, a more flexible option that never expires.<\/p>\n
Riders can load credit directly in the VIA app.
\nCredits can be used for any VIA service.<\/p>\n
Save With Ride Credit Bundles<\/p>\n
Riders can now purchase discounted credit bundles. For example:<\/p>\n
Pay $65 and receive $90 in ride credit<\/p>\n
These bundles allow riders to lock in additional value and reduce per\u2011ride costs over time.<\/p>\n
