{"id":183939,"date":"2026-02-28T03:01:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T03:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/183939\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T03:01:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T03:01:08","slug":"trump-meets-supporters-at-south-texas-whataburger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/183939\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump meets supporters at South Texas Whataburger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Corpus Christi, Texas (DC Pool) \u2014 President Donald Trump made a stop at a Corpus Christi Whataburger&#8211;a hometown favorite after he delivered remarks in the Coastal Bend at the Port of Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s motorcade pulled into the popular Texas fast-food chain shortly after his event wrapped up Friday evening. <\/p>\n<p>The first Whataburger opened in 1950 in Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, he greeted patrons and asked, \u201cAre these the best burgers?\u201d Customers responded that they were.<\/p>\n<p>The president also asked diners whether they liked his recent State of the Union address and questioned why Democrats \u201cdidn\u2019t stand up,\u201d according to pool reports.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, Trump told the crowd, \u201cHamburgers for all.
