The Eagles limited the Lady Chaps to three hits in each contest, claiming 7-2 and 3-1 victories.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGAME 1<br \/>\nThe Eagles used a four-run fourth inning to break open a tight contest and claim a 7-2 victory over LCU in the opening game of a Lone Star Conference doubleheader.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLubbock Christian fell to 8-9 overall and 4-3 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Eagles improved to 14-3 overall and 6-1 in league action. Senior Jill Dickson (7-2) earned the complete-game victory for Oklahoma Christian, allowing two runs on three hits over seven innings with three walks and nine strikeouts on 107 pitches.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLCU junior <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/kadin-vire\/4724\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4724\" target=\"_blank\">Kadin Vire<\/a> accounted for both Lady Chaps runs, finishing 1-for-3 with a two-run double deep in the gap in left-center. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/lexi-clark\/5069\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5069\" target=\"_blank\">Lexi Clark<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/ava-castillo\/5072\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5072\" target=\"_blank\">Ava Castillo<\/a> each added a hit for Lubbock Christian, which was limited to three total hits.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/natalee-gray\/4723\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4723\" target=\"_blank\">Natalee Gray<\/a> (3-2) took the loss for LCU, allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings with four walks. Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/reese-farrar\/4710\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4710\" target=\"_blank\">Reese Farrar<\/a> worked the final two innings, surrendering two runs on three hits.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOklahoma Christian was paced by Maci George, who went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a walk. Kadence Brewster added three hits, including an RBI double, while Sydnee Seat finished with two hits and two runs scored as the Eagles collected 11 hits.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHOW IT HAPPENED<br \/>\nAfter navigating early traffic in the first inning, LCU kept the game scoreless through two frames before Oklahoma Christian struck in the third. George drew a one-out walk and came around to score on Brewster&#8217;s double down the left-field line for a 1-0 lead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe decisive blow came in the fourth. Following a one-out single by Kiley Brewster and a walk to Zyria Palmer, Seat delivered an RBI single to make it 2-0. George followed with a two-run single to right-center, and Brewster capped the rally with an RBI single down the right-field line as the Eagles built a 5-0 advantage.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDickson kept the Lady Chaps off balance through five innings, allowing just one hit while striking out seven.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLCU mounted its lone threat in the sixth. Clark singled to left and Castillo followed with a bunt single to put two aboard. After a strikeout, Vire delivered a two-run double to left-center, trimming the deficit to 5-2 and briefly shifting momentum.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOklahoma Christian answered immediately in the bottom half. Marti Yaerger singled and Seat followed with a bunt hit before a wild pitch allowed Yaerger to score. George then lined a double to deep center, plating Seat and extending the lead to 7-2.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDickson closed the door in the seventh with back-to-back strikeouts, sealing the opener for the Eagles.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGAME NOTES<\/p>\n<p>\u00bb Dickson did not allow a hit through the opening 17 batters she faced, as she had a no-hit bid for five innings. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/lexi-clark\/5069\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5069\" target=\"_blank\">Lexi Clark<\/a> broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff single in the top of the sixth inning.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU was 0-for-7 in two-out at-bats.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nGAME 2<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOC struck early and rode a strong complete-game performance from freshman Ella Resendiz to secure a 3-1 victory over the Lady Chaps in the second game of a Lone Star Conference doubleheader.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nLubbock Christian dropped to 8-10 overall and 4-4 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Eagles improved to 15-3 overall and 7-1 in league action. Resendiz (4-0) scattered three hits across seven innings, allowing one run with three walks and nine strikeouts on 123 pitches to complete the sweep for Oklahoma Christian.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFreshman <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/lexi-clark\/5069\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5069\" target=\"_blank\">Lexi Clark<\/a> (0-1) took the loss for LCU, working five innings and allowing three runs on nine hits without issuing a walk. Oklahoma Christian collected 10 hits, led by Kadence Brewster, who went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a double. Danae Lopez added two hits and an RBI, and Kallie Rupp doubled and drove in a run.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHOW IT HAPPENED<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOklahoma Christian wasted little time setting the tone in the opening inning. Maci George doubled down the right-field line to lead off the frame, and Brewster followed with a single to put runners at the corners. Lopez delivered an RBI single through the right side for the game&#8217;s first run, and Rupp later doubled to deep center to score Kiley Brewster and extend the lead to 2-0.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Eagles added to their advantage in the third when Kadence Brewster launched a solo home run to left field, pushing the margin to 3-0.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nClark settled in after the early damage, retiring six straight at one point and stranding a runner at third in the fifth. In that inning, Brewster doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch, but Clark fielded a ground ball and started a pitcher-to-first-to-catcher double play to cut down Brewster at the plate and keep LCU within three.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nResendiz kept the Lady Chaps off balance most of the afternoon, striking out multiple batters in three different innings and allowing just one runner past second base through six frames.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nLCU mounted its lone rally in the seventh. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/madison-hunter\/5066\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5066\" target=\"_blank\">Madison Hunter<\/a> was hit by a pitch to begin the inning, and Prisock followed with a bunt single. After a walk to <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/alexis-pacheco\/5067\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5067\" target=\"_blank\">Alexis Pacheco<\/a> loaded the bases with one out, Castillo hit into a fielder&#8217;s choice RBI, with Hunter getting home to trim the deficit to 3-1. However, a lineout to left field ended the threat and sealed the Eagles&#8217; victory.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nGAME NOTES<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU was held to three hits in consecutive games, as the three hits in each game are season lows. \u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/kadin-vire\/4724\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4724\" target=\"_blank\">Kadin Vire<\/a> had her streak of reaching base safely end at 14 games, as she did not reach in the second game. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/brianna-chambers-lee\/5075\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5075\" target=\"_blank\">Brianna Chambers-Lee<\/a> is now LCU&#8217;s active leader with an eight-game streak.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/ava-castillo\/5072\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5072\" target=\"_blank\">Ava Castillo<\/a> had a hit in each game and actively leads LCU with a four-game hit streak. \u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU went 2-for-10 in two-out at-bats, finishing the game 2-for-17 on the day in two-out at-bats.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb Pitcher Ella Resendez did not allow a hit to the first 13 batters she faced, as <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/coryn-burris\/5073\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5073\" target=\"_blank\">Coryn Burris<\/a> broke up any thoughts of a no-no after 3.2 innings, as Burris had a two-out single in the fourth inning for LCU&#8217;s first hit.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb The Lady Chaps suffered their first road losses of the season and are 4-2 in road action this season.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00bb LCU fell to 0-6 this season in games against nationally ranked programs.<\/p>\n<p>HISTORY LESSON<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOC has been LCU&#8217;s most common opponent all-time, as they met for a 68th time all-time. OC improved to 28-40 all-time against LCU and they are 15-12 against LCU at home. The Eagles have won 10 of the last 13 meetings.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nWHAT&#8217;S NEXT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nLCU heads to Lawton, Okla.
