LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – One of the men running to take over as Texas\u2019 top attorney made a campaign stop in Lubbock. Congressman Chip Roy is a Republican running for Attorney General. <\/p>\n
Congressman Roy wants to make the move from Washington to Austin because he says he wants to defend what he calls Texas values. <\/p>\n
His experience includes time as a federal prosecutor and in the Attorney General\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d like to quit, but there isn\u2019t another Texas to move to. It\u2019s actually true. So we\u2019ve got to preserve and protect it,\u201d he said. \u201cIt can grow, it can change, we can adapt \u2014 all great things. We prosper and grow as a state, but we have to keep our core values, defend out state from the onslaught of an open border if we get another Biden\/Mayorkas situation.” <\/p>\n
Congressman Jodey Arrington shared his endorsement for Roy. <\/p>\n

Congressman Roy is running against three Republicans for the nomination, state Senator Joan Huffman, state representative Mayes Middleton and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Reitz. <\/p>\n
Whoever wins will face the winner of the Democratic primary in November.<\/p>\n
