{"id":184284,"date":"2026-02-28T08:10:53","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T08:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/184284\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T08:10:53","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T08:10:53","slug":"man-receives-6-years-after-pleading-guilty-to-manslaughter-in-connection-with-2025-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/184284\/","title":{"rendered":"Man receives 6 years after pleading guilty to manslaughter in connection with 2025 murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; 49-year-old Jonathan Abare was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in connection with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2025\/05\/09\/jonathan-abare-accused-murder-strangulation-death-clinton-boadie-park\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2025\/05\/09\/jonathan-abare-accused-murder-strangulation-death-clinton-boadie-park\/\">murder of Clinton Bodie Park in January 2025<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Abare was sentenced by Judge Trey McClendon in the 137th District Court Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Multiple witnesses told investigators Abare strangled and beat Park during a fight. Park\u2019s death was later determined as asphyxia due to strangulation and blunt force injuries. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Abare was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2025\/06\/10\/man-indicted-connection-with-january-murder\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2025\/06\/10\/man-indicted-connection-with-january-murder\/\">indicted on a murder charge in June of 2025<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Following Abare\u2019s guilty plea, the family of Park gave victim impact statements. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe loved our son,\u201d his mother, Sheila Park, said. \u201cAnd we know he was not an innocent bystander, but he didn\u2019t deserve to die like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCBD.
