The five suspects arrested after the high-speed pursuit<\/a> that ended in east Fort Worth early Thursday have been identified and face multiple charges, officials said.<\/p>\n The chase began in Ellis County after a patrol officer with the Sheriff\u2019s Office heard gunshots on a county road near Midlothian and saw a speeding car run a stop sign. The suspects refused to stop and fired at the deputies and other law enforcement officers who joined in the pursuit, police said.<\/p>\n The Ellis County Sheriff\u2019s Office identified the suspects<\/a> as 18-year-old Miguel Angel Lopez, 18-year-old Damion DeLeon Aumada, 21-year-old Jose Mioes Alvarado, 24-year-old Guadalupe Alvarado and 26-year-old Fernando Alba Jr.<\/p>\n The vehicle crashed and rolled on its side in the 6300 block of Camp Bowie Boulevard after Fort Worth police deployed spike strips. Four of the suspects were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The fifth suspect was not injured, officials said.<\/p>\n Alba was still in the Intensive Care Unit as of Thursday evening, but was expected to be out soon, Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman said in a Facebook post. He\u2019ll be taken to the Ellis County Jail and formally charged after his release, authorities said.<\/p>\n Pursuing officers had seen items being thrown out of the car and later recovered a gun, according to police. Investigators also executed a search warrant on the vehicle following the crash.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough corroborating evidence collected at the crash site and evidence obtained during the search warrant, along with interviews, investigators developed probable cause to criminally charge all five occupants,\u201d Norman said in the post.<\/p>\n All the suspects face charges of aggravated assault against a public servant, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n Lopez also will be charged with evading arrest with a vehicle and unauthorized use of a vehicle, Jose Alvarado with felon in possession of a firearm, and Alba with felon in possession of a firearm and unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges from other agencies involved in the pursuit are possible, the post states.<\/p>\n Related Stories from Fort Worth Star-Telegram<\/p>\n
