EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 The El Paso VA Healthcare System announced it has begun infrastructure upgrades that are designed to ensure safe and effective patient care.<\/p>\n

These projects are part of a record $4.8 billion in nationwide VA spending<\/a> to modernize, repair and improve department health care facilities in fiscal year 2026 via the Veterans Health Administration\u2019s Non-Recurring Maintenance program, the VA said.<\/p>\n

The VA did not say how much would be spent locally here in El Paso.<\/p>\n

Improvement projects for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 for the El Paso VA Healthcare System will consist of interior renovations, the VA said.<\/p>\n

\u201cImproved facilities, equipment and infrastructure mean better care for veterans, and these funds will enable El Paso VA Healthcare System to achieve that goal,\u201d said Mark Rielo, the medical center director for the El Paso VA.<\/p>\n

\u201cBetter care for veterans is our goal, and these projects will enable us to achieve just that,\u201d Rielo said.<\/p>\n
