One person was killed in a crash following a police chase in Fort Worth on Monday.<\/p>\n
Fort Worth police officers responded shortly before 5 p.m. to a hit-and-run in the eastbound lanes of West Freeway near Horne Street, police said in the statement.<\/p>\n
The 911-caller told police that his car had been struck by another vehicle, and he was following it because the driver failed to stop after the accident, according to police.<\/p>\n
Officers found the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop the driver, who failed to yield and officers briefly chased the vehicle going east on Camp Bowie Boulevard, police said.<\/p>\n
Investigators believe that the driver hit a curb in the 3700 block of Camp Bowie , lost control and then crashed into a tree, police said.<\/p>\n
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. No other injuries were reported, police said.<\/p>\n
