Polls open at 7 a.m. today across Texas for major federal<\/a>, state<\/a> and local<\/a> races \u2014 including the recently redrawn<\/a> Tarrant County Commissioners Court.<\/p>\n

Republicans and Democrats weigh their candidates today to see who will be the party\u2019s nominee for the general election on Nov. 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Candidates need more than 50% of the vote in the primary to win the nomination. If no candidate crosses that threshold, a runoff election will be triggered between the top two vote-getters. A runoff, if needed, will be May 26.<\/p>\n
