A person in Fort Worth<\/a> suspected to be involved in an aggravated kidnapping died Monday after fleeing police and then crashing <\/a>under an interstate overpass, police said.<\/p>\n

During a follow-up investigation into the aggravated kidnapping Monday, officers encountered a suspect vehicle at 6:32 p.m., Fort Worth police said in a release. <\/p>\n

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but police said the driver failed to yield and fled northbound on Interstate 35.<\/p>\n

As police chased the vehicle, they said the driver took the Pharr Street exit from I-35, lost control and crashed into a concrete pillar underneath the overpass.<\/p>\n

The driver died at the scene. Police said the driver was the only person inside the vehicle. The Tarrant County medical examiner\u2019s office will identify the person killed in the crash.<\/p>\n

Fort Worth police did not provide an immediate response to The Dallas Morning News on why the person was suspected of aggravated kidnapping, and if officers were under the impression someone else was in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

This is the second Fort Worth police fatal pursuit<\/a> this week. Also on Monday, a man suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run collided with a tree during a police pursuit.<\/p>\n
