Residents of San Antonio and its surrounding area are expressing concern after seeing several aircraft zoom over their neighborhoods<\/a>. Social media was flooded with clips, photos, and claims of their whereabouts on Monday, March 2.<\/p>\n

City Congressman Joaquin Castro reshared a post on X<\/a>, formerly Twitter, which showed a fleet of helicopters traveling over a wooded community.<\/p>\n

“Neighbor got a video,” the user captioned their post. “I know San Antonio is Military City U.S.A. but I’ve lived in this house since 2009 & I’ve never experienced something like this …\u00a0I don’t like this.”<\/p>\n

MySA reached out to Castro’s office for a comment, but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

The clip received over 1.2 million views and over 200 comments, with many sharing thoughts on\u00a0what type of helicopters they might be. Some say they look similar to\u00a0CH-47 Chinooks<\/a> or Night Stalkers, also known as 160th SOAR<\/a> (Abn).<\/p>\n

“We also experienced, and it was so alarming,” one user wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The original poster responded to them<\/a>, saying their “entire house” was “violently shaking for at least 30 seconds.” Additional sightings were reported\u00a0on Facebook<\/a>, Reddit<\/a>, and TikTok<\/a>. Texans allege they were spotted in the West Austin\/Lakeway<\/a> area, the Hill Country, and Lampasas County.<\/p>\n

Many claims repeat the same observation: that they did not have their lights on, loud, and moving\u00a0in groups.<\/p>\n

“Maybe for a movie? – Sure flying in nice formation,” Wild Wilson wrote in a post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Yes-very low and no lights. Never seen them that low – like under a radar. It was concerning,” Margie Thatcher\u00a0McVicker wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Others\u00a0argue they were likely “moving machines”<\/a> or people, and that it was not abnormal, given how many military installations there are in the Alamo City.<\/p>\n

Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA<\/a>) includes\u00a0Camp Bullis, Fort Sam Houston,\u00a0Lackland Air Force Base, and\u00a0Randolph Air Force Base. MySA reached out to JBSA for comment.<\/p>\n
