The two other candidates in the race, Fred Tate and Zdenka &#8220;Zee&#8221; Wilcox, garnered 7,477 and 576 votes, respectively, or 42.01% and 3.24%.<\/p>\n<p>Tate is a managing director and has experience in a governor-appointed board service, per <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/grapevine-colleyville-southlake\/election\/2026\/02\/12\/qa-meet-the-republican-primary-candidates-for-texas-house-district-98\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previous reporting<\/a>. Mizani is the current mayor of Keller and a former city council member. Wilcox is a small business owner and former public school teacher.<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic primary race is between Cate Brennan and Aaron Hendley.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s next?<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the Republican primary will face the winner of the Democratic primary in November.
