SAN ANTONIO \u2013 San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones discussed her recent censure during KSAT\u2019s 6 O\u2019Clock News on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
The City Council censured Jones<\/a> during a special meeting Friday in what appears to be a first since the city charter was adopted 75 years ago.<\/p>\n Jones was accused of being \u201cverbally abusive\u201d toward Councilwoman Sukh Kaur (D1) during a Feb. 5 confrontation about the Bonham Exchange and fire sprinkler regulations. The censure resolution also cited \u201cprior inappropriate interactions with councilmembers, city staff and constituents.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI want to move forward, and I think we need to do that. … No one is above additional training,\u201d Jones said Tuesday, noting she invited the councilmembers to join her.<\/p>\n Jones also said she asked the City Council to consider a resolution directing the city manager to report every six months on any public entity that owes the city $1 million or more and is at least six months past due.<\/p>\n \u201cJust on the few instances that we know about, that\u2019s $10 million already,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Jones also talked about a proposed commission to increase voter participation<\/a> citywide and the March 3 primary races<\/a>.<\/p>\n Watch the full interview in the video player above .<\/p>\n Read also:<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 by KSAT – All rights reserved.<\/p>\n Election Update on US Rep.
