FORT WORTH, Texas – Superintendent Karen Molinar\u2019s tenure with the Fort Worth Independent School District is ending.<\/p>\n
The Texas Education Agency will move forward with selecting someone new to lead the district.<\/p>\n

TEA Commissioner Mike Morath released a statement Wednesday morning confirming that, following a comprehensive interview and evaluation process, Molinar was not selected for the permanent role.<\/p>\n
The agency stated the decision was based on “the scope of changes and improvements needed to better serve all students in the district.” According to the release, the foundation Molinar built will help the incoming superintendent and a new Board of Managers, both of which are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
Morath thanked Molinar for her nearly 30 years of service to Fort Worth ISD, praising her commitment to the community and the district\u2019s students.<\/p>\n
