{"id":190826,"date":"2026-03-04T23:06:01","date_gmt":"2026-03-04T23:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/190826\/"},"modified":"2026-03-04T23:06:01","modified_gmt":"2026-03-04T23:06:01","slug":"city-of-grapevine-tarrant-county-partner-on-road-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/190826\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Grapevine, Tarrant County partner on road project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe city of Grapevine will partner with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarrantcountytx.gov\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tarrant County<\/a> for one road project and got approval to apply for another during the Feb. 17 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grapevinetexas.gov\/ArchiveCenter\/ViewFile\/Item\/5282\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href, &#039;&#039;, &#039;resizable=no,status=no,location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,fullscreen=no,scrollbars=no,dependent=no&#039;); return false;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">council meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Council approved a contract for road work from the 50th year of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarrantcountytx.gov\/en\/community-development-and-housing-department\/programs\/community-development-block-grant.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Community Development Block Grant<\/a> program during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s happening?<\/p>\n<p>Dallas-based <a href=\"https:\/\/jeskeconstruction.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jeske Construction<\/a> was awarded a $683,520 contract for road repairs on Austin Street, from Franklin Street to where Austin Street dead ends at the TEXRail rail tracks, which run to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Public Works Director Bryan Beck said the project provides for the reconstruction of 800 linear feet of road that will include new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, barrier-free ramps and driveway approaches.<\/p>\n<p>City documents state the Grapevine portion will cost $578,711, and Tarrant County will pay $104,809.<\/p>\n<p>Beck said the project is expected to start in May and will take six months to complete.<\/p>\n<p>What else?<\/p>\n<p>Council approved the application for the 52nd year of the Community Development Block Grant program with Tarrant County.<\/p>\n<p>This project would reconstruct the 300 block of Eckley Street, from East Texas Street to East Worth Street, according to city documents.<\/p>\n<p>The work would repave 420 linear feet of a 30-foot roadway, with curbs and gutters, sidewalks, handicap ramps and driveway approaches, according to the presentation.<\/p>\n<p>The estimated construction cost is $603,000.
