{"id":192025,"date":"2026-03-05T17:59:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T17:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/192025\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T17:59:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T17:59:22","slug":"arlington-17-year-old-arrested-for-supplying-gun-that-killed-14-year-old-friend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/192025\/","title":{"rendered":"Arlington 17-year-old arrested for supplying gun that killed 14-year-old friend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/rip-arlington-gun-accident.png\" alt=\"\" data-v-7d0efd03=\"\"\/> article    <\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">ARLINGTON, Texas &#8211; Arlington police arrested a 17-year-old boy for supplying the gun that accidentally killed a 14-year-old Martin High School student.<\/p>\n<p>   17-year-old facing charges <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/untitled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\">Cameron Tantillo  (Tarrant County Jail)<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KDFW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">What&#8217;s new:<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">Police determined the gun that killed 14-year-old Riley Jordan belonged to a relative of 17-year-old Cameron Tantillo.<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">The gun\u2019s registered owner had it properly secured in a gun safe, but police said Tantillo broke into that safe and took the gun without permission.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">Tantillo allegedly brought it to the home on Sausalito Drive, where Jordan was shot.<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with making a firearm accessible to a child resulting in death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">Police said the gun\u2019s owner cooperated with the investigation and is not facing charges.<\/p>\n<p> Arlington 14-year-old killed <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/v-arlington-sausalito-dr-fatal-shooting-9p_00.00.34.30.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\"\/>  <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KDFW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">The backstory:<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">Jordan was shot and killed on Feb. 20 while he and several friends were handling a handgun inside a bedroom.<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">Investigators determined several of the friends were &#8220;playing with it&#8221; just before the shooting. Evidence suggested the teens were pointing the weapon at one another when it discharged, striking Jordan in the head.<\/p>\n<p data-v-06e3e0fd=\"\">A teenage boy who was in the room at the time of the discharge was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
