The facility, which opened in 1964, will cease soup production on May 1 and will now shift to making Prego Italian Sauces and Pace salsa, per a recent state filing.<\/p>\n

The Campbell’s Co. plans to lay off hundreds at its factory in Paris, about two hours northeast of Dallas, as it transitions the site for a smaller workforce and new use.<\/p>\n

Soup production will stop May 1 at the facility, which opened in 1964 and will now shift to making Prego Italian Sauces and Pace salsa, the company said in a recent filing with the state.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The filing indicates the repurposed plant will require a smaller workforce and the company will cut 205 of the 568 employees at the facility. Campbell’s also states in the filing it has shared regular updates with employees as it prepares for the transition and those who work until being laid off are eligible for separation benefits.<\/p>\n

James Regan, a spokesperson for Campbell’s, said the number of employees impacted is actually fewer than previously anticipated when the change was announced in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n
