A San Antonio shooting has left one person fighting for their life as the city is placed on partial lockdown.<\/p>\n

The injured person was hospitalized and a suspect was detained soon after the shooting at the Frost Bank Center on Thursday night, according to the Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office. The shooting occurred<\/a> minutes after the San Antonio Spurs wrapped up their home game against the Detroit Pistons at the Frost Bank Center.<\/p>\n

It comes days after a knife-wielding man was shot dead by a state trooper after fatally stabbing a woman and a dog in a road rage incident on the side of a Virginia highway, police said.<\/p>\n

Three other people were also stabbed during the incident <\/a>on Sunday, which authorities said started as a road rage encounter <\/a>after a crash along Interstate 495 southbound near exit 52 in Annandale, Virginia quickly escalated.<\/p>\n

Virginia State Police were called to the scene at around 1:20pm Sunday. “It started out as a property damage crash and now he’s stabbing people with a knife,” a Fairfax police dispatcher said.<\/p>\n

There were \u201cmultiple individuals down with stab wounds,\u201d the dispatcher noted. When a trooper arrived at the crash, he was confronted by a male suspect wielding a knife and shot him in self-defense just before 1:30pm.<\/p>\n

The knife-wielding suspect was struck twice in the chest, according to the dispatcher. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and later died.<\/p>\n

A total of four people were stabbed during the incident, including a 39-year-old woman who died from her injuries. The trooper was not injured.<\/p>\n

Emergency personnel and injured people were visible on the road in a video of the incident. Two victims were categorized as “red tag,” signifying critical injuries, while one victim was receiving CPR.<\/p>\n

A fourth victim had a “yellow tag,” indicating that their injuries were severe but not immediately life-threatening.
