CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A teen who admitted to killing another teenager in Corpus Christi has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison.<\/p>\n
Drew Anthony Davis pleaded guilty to murder and robbery charges in the death of 17-year-old Gabriel Campos III.<\/p>\n
Judge Jack Pulcher sentenced Davis to 22 years in prison for the murder and 20 years for robbery.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Davis will serve both at the same time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He will also receive credit for time already served while in custody.<\/p>\n
Campos\u2019 family delivered emotional victim impact statements in court before the sentencing.<\/p>\n

They described Gabriel as a young man with a bright future who was just months away from turning 18 and graduating high school.<\/p>\n
Family members said Campos was walking from school to work when he was killed. They told Davis that because of his actions, Gabriel will never get the chance to become a father or an uncle.<\/p>\n
During their statements, relatives accused Davis of showing little remorse during court proceedings, saying he had laughed and smirked at times. They told him he was no longer laughing now.<\/p>\n
In November, a judge ruled that Davis would be tried as an adult in the case.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the proceedings, Davis\u2019 bond had been reduced to $200,000, with $150,000 to be posted by his attorney and $50,000 by his family to ensure he remained out of trouble while awaiting trial.<\/p>\n
Davis was 16 years old at the time of the shooting, and had stood trial in juvenile court since.<\/p>\n
