Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale<\/a> was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery in Miami on Thursday, according to Miami-Dade County jail records<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ogunbowale was arrested at Miami night club E11EVEN MIAMI. She was released on $1,000 bond. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Wings are aware of an incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and are in the process of gathering more information,\u201d a Wings spokesperson told The Dallas Morning News. \u201cFurther comments will be provided once we have more details.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the arrest affidavit, Ogunbowale punched a man in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground. <\/p>\n

The Wings star was in the Miami area to play in Unrivaled<\/a>, a professional 3-on-3 women\u2019s basketball league founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Ogunbowale scored 19 points to help lead Mist to a 80-74 win over Phantom<\/a> in the league\u2019s championship game.<\/p>\n

She has spent all seven seasons of her WNBA career with the Wings, averaging 19.9 points and 4.0 assists per game. She has been named an All-Star four times in her career and has won the All-Star game MVP twice.<\/p>\n

The Wings selected Ogunbowale with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft<\/a> out of Notre Dame. <\/p>\n
