Calallen<\/a> had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 12-8-1 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Veterans Memorial Chargers<\/a> as they made off with an 8-2 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.<\/p>\n Jordyn Thibodeaux<\/a> was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter’s box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.<\/p>\n In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cody Forbes<\/a>, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That’s the most runs she has posted over her last 12 contests. Kaylie Lopez<\/a> also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.<\/p>\n Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 8-1-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.<\/p>\n As for Veterans Memorial, they moved to 14-5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn’t push the score so high this time.<\/p>\n
