Roope Hintz will miss some time following his injury Friday night against Colorado<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters on Saturday that the Dallas Stars<\/a> forward will be out for an extended period after suffering a left leg injury in the second period of the 5-4 shootout loss. <\/p>\n

Gulutzan said they won\u2019t know Hintz\u2019s timeline until he sees a specialist, but they are hopeful he will return before the playoffs.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s gonna miss some time. We don\u2019t know exactly how much, but it\u2019s not a couple of days. He\u2019s got to go see another doctor. Not great news,\u201d Gulutzan said. \u201cIt\u2019s gonna be a couple of weeks for sure before you\u2019re going to see him skating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hintz collided with Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon in the corner before his leg hyperextended, and he fell to the ice.<\/p>\n

Hintz was in his first game back from injured reserve<\/a> after he missed the past week due to an illness.<\/p>\n

He had 15 goals and 29 assists in 52 games for Dallas this season entering Friday.<\/p>\n

The Stars are also without Mikko Rantanen for the foreseeable future, with GM Jim Nill saying he won\u2019t start skating for another 7-10 days, and forward Radek Faksa until just before the playoffs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you start missing players like Roope and [Rantanen] for long periods of time, it puts stress,\u201d Gulutzan said.<\/p>\n

Briefly: Recent trade acquisitions Tyler Myers and Michael Bunting will make their Stars debuts Sunday vs. Chicago.<\/p>\n
