ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 Arlington police are investigating a fatal crash that killed a woman on Friday.<\/p>\n
Officers responded around 12:34 p.m. March 6 to the intersection of S. Cooper Street and Eden Road after receiving reports of a major crash involving two vehicles.<\/p>\n
They found a 54-year-old woman who needed emergency medical attention. She was transported to a local hospital where she died, police said.<\/p>\n
Arlington police said in a press release that a preliminary investigation found the crash happened when a 2025 Mercedes Benz C30 traveling north on S. Cooper Street collided with a 2022 Hyundai Tucson, which the woman was driving. Investigators believe the Hyundai was traveling south and was in the turn lane attempting to turn left when the collision happened.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Mercedes was also injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to the release.<\/p>\n
Investigators believe speed may have played a role in the collision and are looking into whether the driver of the Mercedes was engaged in street racing before the crash, according to the release.<\/p>\n
The identities of the drivers have not been released.
