DALLAS \u2014 Competing in their second last chance meet in as many weeks, No. 6 Stanford men\u2019s swimming spent the weekend at the SMU Last Chance Invite, aiming for more NCAA qualifying times. Stanford saw some of its best performances of the season, landing four qualifying marks and a number of other personal bests.<\/p>\n
Gibson Holmes<\/a> was one of the stars of the weekend for the Cardinal, with a pair of NCAA qualifying marks in the butterfly. The highlight for Holmes came in the 200 fly, where he posted a personal best with a 1:39.45, the ninth-fastest time in the country this season. He also hit a qualifying time in the 100 fly with a 45.59, another personal best.<\/p>\n Henry Morrissey<\/a> swam the mile and posted his best time of the season, with a 14:57.58, which hit a qualifying mark. The other qualifying time came from Ray Liu<\/a>, who had a pair of personal bests at SMU in the IM. His first personal best was in the 200 IM, with a time of 1:44.44. He was even faster in the 400 IM, where he reached that qualifying mark with a time of 3:45.40.<\/p>\n There were additional personal bests put up across the board by Stanford swimmers. Freshman Connor Jones<\/a> had a personal best in the 400 IM with a 3:46.63. Andy Kravchenko<\/a>, another freshman, swam a 1:36.83 in the 200 free, which was a new career-best. Liu had another personal best over the weekend, coming in the 100 back.<\/p>\n Stanford will now prepare for the 2026 NCAA Championships, hosted by Georgia Tech, the site of the ACC Championships.
