Houston RODEO weather update March 8,2026: No hail at NRG park after 2024 scare but heavy rain, thunderstorms and even hail in other parts of our viewing area. \u2013 Storms at the Rodeo: Saturday\u2019s severe weather threat didn\u2019t slow down folks from going to the rodeo.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll we do is WIN, so we always say WIN anyway. We ain\u2019t gonna worry\u2014we\u2019re gonna WIN anyway. So if it rains, it was meant to rain.\u201d One man told our reporter Joy Addison ahead of Saturday\u2019s severe weather threat.<\/p>\n

And last night\u2019s drone show was canceled last night due to rain and thunderstorms. <\/p>\n

And boy, did it rain in some spots yesterday! The NWS also reporting isolated hail in the Piney Woods region.<\/p>\n

Plus, we watched this slow-moving cell move off the coast this morning in real-time. A flood advisory for our coastal communities expired at 10:30 this morning.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re also watching a strong cold front moving in Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing even more rain and thunderstorms this week. That includes tomorrow: we\u2019re tracking another good chance for rain and storms, especially as we head into the afternoon.<\/p>\n
