Arlington Mayor Jim Ross will highlight the City\u2019s current successes and his vision for the future during his annual State of the City Address on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at the Arlington Expo Center.<\/p>\n
Ross, who is serving his second term, will discuss a variety of topics, including economic development, tourism, public safety, Downtown growth, investments in public infrastructure and amenities designed to enrich our community, and other milestone moments recently celebrated in The American Dream City.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Ross will announce the 4th annual Mayor\u2019s American Dream Award recipient. Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Executive Director Carolyn Mentesana was the inaugural recipient of this honor in 2022, followed by Green Oaks School executive director and cofounder Jean Jewell in 2023 and City Manager Trey Yelverton in 2024.<\/p>\n
The ticketed, in-person event will be hosted by the\u00a0Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce<\/a>\u00a0and will be broadcast on the\u00a0City of Arlington\u2019s Facebook page<\/a>. The Arlington Highlands is this year\u2019s presenting sponsor.<\/p>\n The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce will also honor its 2025 Small Business of the Year recipients at the 20th annual event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
The awards portion of the program is sponsored by The University of Texas at Arlington College of Business.<\/p>\n The entire State of the City address will be recorded and replayed on the City’s government cable channel on AT&T U-verse Channel 99 or Spectrum Channel 16, 15.1 (digital).<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Published on October 08, 2025
