Ten puppies were killed Sunday morning in a fire that also damaged a home<\/a> in north Fort Worth.<\/p>\n According to Fort Worth fire officials, the blaze started about 8 a.m. Sunday in the 3200 block of Grover Avenue.<\/p>\n A woman who was staying in the home told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that she awoke to police officers knocking on her window, telling her to get out of the house.<\/p>\n Jennifer Zuniga said she was raising the 8-week-old puppies that were in a back room of the home, which belongs to a friend.<\/p>\n \u201cI loved my puppies. I took care of them so much. I just feel like I failed them, you know. They\u2019re so innocent. They didn\u2019t deserve this,\u201d Zuniga told WFAA.<\/p>\n The fire burned through part of the garage and punched a hole in the roof.<\/p>\n Fort Worth fire officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation, and that an arrest was made but it was tied to a different fire at the same home in February. The previous incident was a car fire on Feb. 25, a fire department spokesperson said.<\/p>\n Officials also said the home was \u201cheavily cluttered\u201d and showed signs of hoarding.<\/p>\n Related Stories from Fort Worth Star-Telegram<\/p>\n
