{"id":197494,"date":"2026-03-10T01:07:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T01:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/197494\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T01:07:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T01:07:09","slug":"speed-limit-reduced-on-woodrow-road-amid-construction-safety-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/197494\/","title":{"rendered":"Speed limit reduced on Woodrow Road amid construction, safety concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; The speed limit on Woodrow Road has been reduced to 45 mph, with new signage ordered and expected to be posted soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Commissioners said the change is intended to protect businesses, schools, construction sites, and new homes along the corridor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pct. 1 Commissioner Mike Dalby said the decision was driven by safety concerns raised by community members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou know, they just wanted to slow things down. There\u2019s been some accidents out there and unsafe driving. So, they brought this to me and we thought it was a good idea to slow things down during this construction process in order to protect some drivers,\u201d Dalby said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The speed reduction is effective immediately. While new signs have been ordered, commissioners are urging drivers to keep their full attention on the road in the meantime.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCBD.
