TYLER, Texas (KETK<\/a>)\u2013 The statewide average gas price in Texas is $2.61 per gallon for regular, unleaded fuel, according to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. In Tyler, the average is $2.52 per gallon, marking it less than the state and national average.<\/p>\n

Comparing the prices to the national average which currently sits at $3.07, Texas is 0.46 cents below the average and Tyler is 0.55 cents below the national average.<\/p>\n

Lower gas demand and steady supply is continuing to help push prices downward nationally and statewide. As long as refinery production is not disrupted, gas prices should continue declining in the fall and winter months, which is the period with the lowest fuel demand.<\/p>\n

\u201cLower crude oil prices, steady production and lower demand are giving drivers relief at the pump,\u201d said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson.<\/p>\n

The national average is up two cents from last week but remains eight cents lower than this time last year. The average gas price in Tyler a year ago today was $2.65, marking a 13-cent difference.<\/p>\n
