SAN ANTONIO \u2013 The driver of a Chevrolet Corvette was killed early Monday after crashing on Interstate 37 near downtown San Antonio.<\/p>\n
The crash was reported at around 2 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-37 near Carolina Street.<\/p>\n
San Antonio police said a 21-year-old man was driving the Corvette when he lost control, went through a guardrail and went down a hill onto the access road. <\/p>\n
The vehicle eventually stopped at the guardrail on the access road, SAPD said. <\/p>\n
The Bexar County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office identified him as Mathew Xavier Galvan. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. <\/p>\n
A passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries. <\/p>\n
The southbound mainlanes were closed due to the crash, but they have since reopened.<\/p>\n
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to police. <\/p>\n
