HOUSTON \u2014 After more than four decades in business, a northwest Houston taqueria is closing its doors.<\/p>\n
The owners of Taqueria Cancun restaurant at 2227 Gessner made the announcement in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor over 40 years, Taqueria Cancun has been more than a restaurant \u2014 it has been a place where our community gathered, laughed, celebrated, and shared meals together,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n
The family thanked customers for their years of support, saying many people who first walked through the doors as customers eventually became friends. Some patrons even grew up visiting the restaurant, something the owners said they will \u201calways carry in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we prepare to close this chapter, our hearts are filled with gratitude for all the love and support you have shown us throughout the years,\u201d the family wrote.<\/p>\n
Taqueria Cancun\u2019s last day will be March 29. The family invited customers to visit during the restaurant\u2019s final weeks \u201cto share one last meal together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for these 40 beautiful years,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n
