{"id":198858,"date":"2026-03-10T21:44:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T21:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/198858\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T21:44:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T21:44:09","slug":"harris-county-crosswalks-4-precinct-4-begins-next-round-of-revamped-crosswalks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/198858\/","title":{"rendered":"Harris County Crosswalks 4 Precinct 4 begins next round of revamped crosswalks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMore than 60 crosswalks across Harris County Precinct 4 will receive a makeover while students are away for spring break.<\/p>\n<p>What residents need to know<\/p>\n<p>Harris County Precinct 4 commissioner Lesley Briones launched the spring break portion of <a href=\"https:\/\/cp4.harriscountytx.gov\/Connect\/Newsroom\/crosswalks-4-precinct-4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crosswalks 4 Precinct 4<\/a> during a March 6 news conference in front of Morton Ranch High School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom restriping crosswalks to upgrading traffic signals and rebuilding sidewalks, we are investing in safer streets for our children and families,\u201d Briones said in a March 6 news release. \u201cSafety does not take a break, and neither does your county government. At the end of the day, our goal is to keep your family safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The specifics<\/p>\n<p>The project\u2014which will repaint crosswalks, curbs and stop sign road markings\u2014produces just over $171,000 worth of upgrades for crosswalks in 12 \u201chigh-traffic school zones\u201d detected from crash data and community input, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Project locations include:<\/p>\n<p>Alief ISD<\/p>\n<p>Holub Middle SchoolAlief Taylor High SchoolPetrosky Elementary SchoolAlbright Middle SchoolCy-Fair ISDKaty ISDGolbow Elementary SchoolMorton Ranch Elementary SchoolMorton Ranch High SchoolT.H.
