DeMeco Ryans<\/a>, Nick Caserio<\/a>, and the Houston Texans<\/a> are stars of Day 2 during the NFL\u2019s legal free agency tampering period, swiping Logan Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Houston has built one of the NFL\u2019s top defenses\u2013and they would say the very best\u2013under Ryans, with Caserio in position as the architect of the whole thing. In Hall, they add another piece with an intriguing skill set.<\/p>\n

He bolsters what is already a strength for the organization.<\/p>\n

Texans Sign Former Buccaneers DE Logan Hall\"Logan\"Logan<\/p>\n

\u201cDL Logan Hall to the Texans on a two-year deal, per source,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler reported<\/a> in a post on X on March 10. \u201cThis should come in around $7M per year, via @DPFootballAgent, for Tampa Bay\u2019s former 33rd overall pick, joining a loaded Texans line. Much of the deal will be guaranteed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hall ranked 89th overall and fifth among interior linemen in The Athletic\u2019s free agency rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cHall is a tall interior defensive lineman with workable tools, athleticism and explosiveness,\u201d The Athletic\u2019s Daniel Popper wrote<\/a> in February. \u201cHis flashes as a run defender and pass rusher are very intriguing, but he plays a little out of control at times. He can look clumsy and needs more refinement in all phases, but there is a ton of upside with the traits. Hall had a career-high 32 pressures in 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hall, who turns 26 in April, was the 33rd overall pick of the 2022 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a>. He had 39 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks while starting 16 of 17 games played for the Buccaneers in 2025.<\/p>\n

Hall has also started three of the four postseason games that he has played in, including one this past season.<\/p>\n

He has 101 total stops, 10.0 sacks, and 3 recoveries to go with his one force in his career.<\/p>\n

Popper projected Hall for a three-year, $25 million contract<\/a>, an $8.3 million annual average salary. Spotrac projected<\/a> a three-year, $23.9 million agreement, but the Texans secured him for less than both outlets had in mind.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it has something to do with location.<\/p>\n

Hall is an Elgin, Oklahoma native, but he went to college at the University of Houston, making this a homecoming and a reunion with former Cougar and new Texans teammate Tank Dell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There is some question about just how the Texans view Hall, who is light for a 4-3 front like the Texans run at his listed<\/a> 283 pounds. However, he has a similar body type to former Texans end Denico Autry<\/a>, who is a free agent and expected to leave amid an unsatisfactory role.<\/p>\n

The Texans still boast Danielle Hunter<\/a> and Will Anderson<\/a> Jr. at the front of their rotation. The Texans also added former Chicago Bears<\/a> EDGE Dominique Robinson<\/a> on Day 2 of the free agency tampering period.<\/p>\n

Inside, the Texans re-signed Sheldon Rankins<\/a> on Tuesday, too.<\/p>\n

Hall\u2019s versatility is a bonus that the Texans figure to have no problems tapping into under Ryans and defensive coordinator Matt Burke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHad Logan Hall as an upside replacement for Denico Autry<\/a>. He\u2019s 6\u20196\u201d 283lbs with the edge \/ dt flex,\u201d Houston Stressans posted<\/a> on X in reaction to the news. \u201cExciting high upside piece for DeMeco to work into his system.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Texans have plugged several needs already, and Hall further bolsters their roster depth.<\/p>\n
