CYPRESS, Texas \u2013 A Cypress man is facing felony charges after authorities say he threatened to detonate explosive devices and carry out a mass shooting.<\/p>\n
According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman\u2019s Office, deputies responded on March 9, 2026, to the 21900 block of Bronze Leaf Drive following a bomb threat call. Investigators say the caller claimed he planned to detonate explosives and conduct a mass shooting. <\/p>\n
When deputies arrived at the home, they detained Jeremiah Chavez. A search of the residence led investigators to discover several rounds of ammunition, an AR-style rifle and bomb-making components, authorities said. <\/p>\n
Officials say the items were recovered with assistance from the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office Bomb Squad, which helped safely remove the materials from the home. <\/p>\n
Chavez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of unlawful possession of components of explosives, a felony offense.<\/p>\n
Authorities say additional details about his bond and court appearance had not been set at the time of the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
