NASHVILLE, Tenn. \u2014 Injured forward Lassina Traore did not make the trip to Nashville for this week’s SEC Tournament with\u00a0Texas basketball<\/a> and could miss the rest of the season, Texas coach\u00a0Sean Miller<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re at the point now with him where I don’t want to be presumptuous, and we don’t know what our future is, but there’s obviously a real chance that he won’t play again,\u201d Miller said after his team\u2019s practice Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena.<\/p>\n

Traore, a 6-foot-9, 245-pound senior, has missed eight consecutive games with soreness in a surgically repaired knee that he originally injured in a preseason practice at Xavier in October 2024.\u00a0He followed Miller <\/a>from Xavier in the offseason and averaged 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds while serving as the first big man off the bench.<\/p>\n

Nic Codie, a 6-foot-8 sophomore from Dallas, has filled in as the top reserve forward in Traore\u2019s absence. In the past eight games, he has averaged 3.4 points and 3.5 points with six total blocks in 16 minutes.<\/p>\n
