Energy Transfer and its management team have committed $15 million to a $5 billion pediatric campus<\/a> under construction in Dallas\u2019 Medical District.<\/p>\n

The donation, which represents Energy Transfer\u2019s largest philanthropic contribution, according to the company, is the latest of those supporting the joint venture between UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children\u2019s Health.<\/p>\n

Since the initial announcement of the campus, which has been under construction since October 2024 and is expected to open in 2031, it has received major philanthropic support from Dallas-area corporations and individual donors. It\u2019s located across from UT Southwestern\u2019s William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cStrengthening the communities where we work and live by addressing critical issues like health and wellness is important to us,\u201d Energy Transfer co-CEO Mackie McCrea, said in the release. <\/p>\n

Energy Transfer is based in Dallas, and is one of the nation\u2019s largest energy infrastructure companies. It has nearly 900 employees in Dallas and over 16,000 worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to be able to step forward in this way to ensure that future generations of children continue to receive the best possible medical care,\u201d Tom Long, Energy Transfer co-CEO, said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis donation represents our commitment to the bold vision of UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children\u2019s Health and the exceptional medical professionals here who provide hope and healing to families throughout Texas, and in many cases, across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pediatric population in North Texas is expected to increase significantly by 2050, officials said in the release, underscoring the need for expanded access to high-quality pediatric care.<\/p>\n

The new campus was \u201cdesigned with collaboration and compassion at its core\u201d and reflects input from patients, families, architects, consultants and more than 300 clinicians and leaders from UT Southwestern and Children\u2019s Health.<\/p>\n

It will span more than 4.9 million square feet and be anchored by Moody Children\u2019s Hospital, which will feature 552 beds in three towers. <\/p>\n

Energy Transfer\u2019s gift will be recognized by naming two family lounges and a patient floor in the new hospital.<\/p>\n

Dr. Daniel Podolsky, president of UT Southwestern and Christopher Durovich, Children\u2019s Health president and CEO, said they appreciate Energy Transfer committing to their shared vision for the future of pediatric care in Dallas.<\/p>\n
