AUSTIN, Texas\u00a0\u2014 Inspired by actor Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet\u2019s remarks saying “no one cares” about ballet or opera anymore, Ballet Austin is offering free tickets for their upcoming premiere of \u201cMARIE ANTOINETTE: Vampire Queen of Versailles\u201d to anyone named Timothy, Timothee or Timoth\u00e9e<\/p>\n

In a conversation with Matthew McConaughey about the future of movies in the theater for Variety held in February at the University of Texas at Austin, Chalamet said, \u201cI don\u2019t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it\u2019s like, \u2018Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore.\u2019 All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there.\u201d<\/p>\n
On the March 9 episode of \u201cThe View,\u201d co-host Sara Haines mentioned that Chalamet\u2019s grandmother, mother and sister all danced for the New York City Ballet. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg then said, \u201cWhen you crap on somebody else\u2019s art form, it doesn\u2019t feel good, it doesn\u2019t feel good to see.\u201d<\/p>\n
In an Instagram post announcing the ticket giveaway, Ballet Austin said, \u201cTimoth\u00e9e\u2026 you were in Austin? We were literally down the street.\u201d<\/p>\n
