Maya Annik Bedward\u2019s feature documentary \u201cBlack Zombie\u201d will be executive produced by Guns N\u2019 Roses guitarist Slash<\/a>, according to The Hollywood Reporter as per Blabbermouth<\/a>. This weekend, the movie will have its world premiere at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. A feature documentary called \u201cBlack Zombie\u201d explores the most well-known yet misinterpreted monster of our day. The film explores popular misrepresentations of the zombie, tracing its origins from Haitian legend to Hollywood horror, in order to uncover its relation to slavery and resistance movements.<\/p>\n The feature documentary \u201cBlack Zombie\u201d explores themes of slavery, rebellion, and the living dead. The long-term effects of cultural appropriation are another topic covered in the movie. The movie follows the zombie\u2019s development from its beginnings in Haiti to its hegemony in Hollywood, eventually exposing its little-known link to slavery and resistance activities.
