{"id":201955,"date":"2026-03-12T21:23:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T21:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/201955\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T21:23:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T21:23:25","slug":"woman-dies-after-laying-down-moped-to-avoid-turning-car-in-arlington-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/201955\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman dies after laying down moped to avoid turning car in Arlington, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 23\u2011year\u2011old woman was killed Thursday in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/arlington\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Arlington<\/a> after laying her moped down to avoid a car that pulled out in front of her, then falling and being run over, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded just after 8:30 a.m. and found the woman trapped beneath a vehicle near Carter Drive and Sunflower Drive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The woman was riding a 2026 Yamaha Vino north on Carter Drive when a 2014 Nissan Sentra attempted to turn from an alley onto the roadway and entered her path, according to Arlington police.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said she tried to lay the moped down to avoid hitting the car, lost control, fell, and was run over. She was wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n<p>Medics transported her to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the Nissan driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
