1.\u00a0Muslim parents, private schools sue Texas over exclusion of Islamic institutions in voucher program<\/a><\/p>\n

Four Muslim parents and three private schools have sued Texas leaders for excluding Islamic private schools from participating in the state\u2019s private school voucher program.<\/p>\n

The two federal\u00a0lawsuits<\/a>\u00a0ask the court to block the voucher program from discriminating on the basis of religion. The first suit, filed March 1 by a parent acting on behalf of two children who attend a Houston private school, names Texas Attorney General\u00a0Ken Paxton<\/a>, Acting Comptroller\u00a0Kelly Hancock<\/a>\u00a0and Education Commissioner Mike Morath as defendants. A second suit filed March 11 by three parents and three schools names Hancock and Mary Katherine Stout, education savings account program manager, as defendants.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Buc-ee’s receives \u2018F\u2019 rating from Better Business Bureau for allegedly ignoring customer complaints<\/a><\/p>\n

Buc-ee\u2019s, the staple Texas convenience store chain lauded for its clean restrooms, plentiful fuel pumps and snack variety, is facing some heat for unanswered customer complaints dating back to 2019.<\/p>\n

The company has received an\u00a0\u201cF\u201d rating<\/a>\u00a0from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for having 88 customer complaints against them, as well as for failing to respond to those complaints.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Dallas considers Atmos Energy’s request for 10% rate increase<\/a><\/p>\n

Atmos Energy is seeking approval from Dallas city leaders for a 10% rate increase that would raise natural gas bills for customers across the city.<\/p>\n

The proposal would increase the average residential bill by about $11 per month or roughly $135 per year. The company says the increase is needed to support continued investment in infrastructure and maintain safe, reliable service.<\/p>\n
