Flour Bluff won the last time they faced Alice and things went their way on Monday too. The Hornets were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Coyotes. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Sidney Gerlach was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kenzie O’Brien was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Flour Bluff hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.

Flour Bluff’s win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alice, they have been struggling recently as they’ve lost five of their last six contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Flour Bluff and Alice will both be playing Gregory-Portland the next time they take the field. The Coyotes will host the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
