{"id":203522,"date":"2026-03-13T20:26:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T20:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/203522\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T20:26:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T20:26:15","slug":"plano-isd-staff-presents-revised-2027-28-academic-calendar-draft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/203522\/","title":{"rendered":"Plano ISD staff presents revised 2027-28 academic calendar draft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pisd.edu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Plano ISD<\/a> is set to adopt its 2027-28 academic calendar in March or April.<\/p>\n<p>The district board of trustees were presented the calendar\u2019s final draft during its <a href=\"http:\/\/diligentoneplatform\" rel=\"nofollow\">March 10 meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What you need to know<\/p>\n<p>On the 2027-28 draft calendar, the first day of school for students would be Aug. 11, 2027 with the last day set for May 24, 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Fall break is set for Oct. 11-15, Thanksgiving break is set for Nov. 22-26 and Winter break would range from Dec. 20, 2027-Jan. 4, 2028. Students would also have a spring break from March 13-17 and additional days off on March 20, April 14 and April 17.<\/p>\n<p>What else<\/p>\n<p>District staff finished receiving feedback from groups of district staff, parents and students last month, PISD Chief Communications Officer Lesley Range-Stanton said.<\/p>\n<p>She added that vetting groups were \u201csatisfied\u201d with the 2026-27 calendar, leading to many similarities with the presented draft.<\/p>\n<p>Range-Stanton also said that planned breaks remain lined up Collin College\u2019s and that the academic calendar can \u201cabsorb\u201d three-to-four inclement weather days before needing to add school days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Plano ISD is set to adopt its 2027-28 academic calendar in March or April.
